Job description

Our client, a fast-growing insurance business, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team. The role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-performing, close-knit team involved in a wide range of legal work. The position reports to the General Counsel and may include management responsibilities. It can be based remotely with only occasional travel to the office.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert legal advice and support to the business, focusing on personal lines insurance products.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policy documents, and TOBAs.
  3. Advise on regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and data privacy issues.
  4. Support broader corporate, commercial, IP, and data protection matters.
  5. Potential to take on management responsibilities, if desired by the successful candidate.

Experience requirements:

  1. Qualified lawyer with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
  2. Previous experience in the insurance sector.
  3. Strong understanding of FCA regulations and insurance distribution rules.
  4. Ideally, experience working in an in-house environment.
  5. Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
