Job Description

Your new role: Senior Legal Counsel - Audio & Commercial Legal

This is an exciting role in Global’s Audio & Commercial Legal Team. You will be the go-to legal advisor for matters relating to the on-boarding of Global’s owned and operated podcasts, high-profile presenter engagements, and podcast content monetisation via Global’s industry-leading DAX business, playing a key role in helping Global deliver on its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Podcast & Presenter Agreements (60%): Lead negotiations, draft, and advise on contracts with podcast talent, production companies, and presenters, including managing related disputes.
• Monetisation & Distribution (25%): Draft and advise on commercial deals for monetising podcasts through Global’s DAX platform and other streaming services, including licensing agreements.
• General Commercial Legal Support (15%): Support broader legal team with supplier, sponsorship, IP, brand agreements, manage disputes, develop templates, and mentor junior staff.

• Establish trust as a key legal business partner.

What You’ll Need

• 8+ years PQE as a solicitor with experience in podcasting, media, talent, IP, digital content, advertising, and commercial agreements. Experience in music licensing, technology, and digital agreements is a plus but not essential.
• A commercial mindset with a deep understanding of media, entertainment, and digital advertising industries.
• Confidence to advise senior stakeholders with clear, pragmatic guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and adapt to unfamiliar legal areas.
