Job Description:

Simmons and Hanbury have been exclusively instructed by a global and fast-growing fintech business on a new Senior Legal Counsel position based in London.

The role could be filled on a hybrid or remote basis with 1-2 days a month in London.

It's a fantastic opportunity to join a high-caliber business, with management responsibility of a small team reporting directly to the Deputy GC. This is an opportunity to accelerate your career and gain experience leading towards Deputy GC or GC in the future.

The position

The role is broad, with a focus on regulatory, advisory work, and collaboration with Product teams. The responsibilities include:

  • International regulation and advisory as the business expands and establishes its regulatory frameworks.
  • Team management and development of 3 legal staff.
  • Privacy advisory.
  • Support on corporate and governance matters.
  • Risk advisory and issue spotting.

Experience requirements

  • 5+ PQE years experience*
  • Strong academic background.
  • In-house experience, preferably in a high-growth company with broad responsibilities.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or consumer tech/financial services.
  • Strong commercial awareness, conviction, and the ability to provide considered, practical, and calibrated advice.
