Job description

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Remote (> 50% remote)

ENERCON is recognized as a global pioneer in the onshore wind energy sector. We produce, sell, and install our own turbines on behalf of our clients, offering high-standard service contracts to maintain and repair turbines throughout their lifecycle.

We have a new opportunity based in the UK for a qualified Legal Counsel to join our dedicated Global Legal team. The role will operate within our Western Europe region, focusing primarily on legal affairs in the UK.

The role of Senior Legal Counsel

The main purpose of this role is to support the CEO and business units with day-to-day legal affairs related to the Company’s activities across the UK. You will work independently in the UK, liaising closely with the Western Europe Legal team, Senior Managers, and external partners.

Your main responsibilities

  1. Proactively create and improve legal awareness within the UK and Western Europe.
  2. Stay updated on legal developments in the UK.
  3. Provide legal advice to local UK business units and the wider region.
  4. Negotiate and communicate directly with external partners.
  5. Draft legal documents.
  6. Implement corporate policies.
  7. Advise on complex disputes with clients and subcontractors.
  8. Manage claims during project execution.
  9. Assist in negotiating TSA and EPK contracts.
  10. Implement corporate policies from the Regional CEO and global headquarters.
  11. Conduct legal and regulatory monitoring.
  12. Support sales, aftersales, project management, PMC, and procurement with contracting.
  13. Prepare and coordinate litigation and court proceedings.
  14. Develop and maintain standard contract templates in collaboration with the Legal Department.
  15. Provide legal training and communicate with stakeholders, including investors, banks, and authorities.
  16. Occasional business travel may be required.

What we offer

  • Salary circa £95,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications and key qualities

  • Fully qualified solicitor in the UK.
  • Experience in a similar role within a UK or international law firm.
  • Broad knowledge of UK private and commercial laws.
  • Understanding of construction contract standards like FIDIC.
  • Knowledge of various contracts such as sale agreements, loan agreements, etc.
  • Understanding of legal, financial, and commercial aspects in technical projects.
  • Knowledge in engineering, construction, or wind energy is advantageous.
  • Strong accountability and communication skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
