We’re Hiring: Senior Legal Counsel – Criminal Prosecution & Civil Litigation (Financial Fraud)

Location: London - Hybrid

Experience: Minimum 3 years PQE

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with specialist expertise in financial fraud to join our team at 1 MC. This role involves leading on complex and high-value matters, including fraud cases in excess of millions across both criminal prosecution and civil jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and advise on large-scale criminal prosecutions involving financial fraud

• Lead civil litigation and asset recovery proceedings in parallel with criminal action

• Provide strategic legal analysis on complex fraud investigations

• Draft legal pleadings, oversee disclosure, and liaise with senior stakeholders

• Work closely with law enforcement, regulators, and external counsel

• Qualified Barrister (England & Wales)

• Minimum 3 years PQE in criminal and/or civil litigation with a focus on fraud or financial crime

• Proven experience handling or advising on high-value fraud.

• Strong knowledge of UK criminal procedure, POCA, and relevant civil fraud mechanisms

• Previous involvement in cases exceeding millions

• Multi-jurisdictional litigation or cross-border fraud experience
