Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support students in accessing learning and to make progress toward individual targets. You will work under a named teacher, with small groups, and support interventions, behaviour management and inclusive practice.

You will hold HLTA standards or equivalent and a Level 2 in English and Maths, with good knowledge of the National Curriculum and child development.

Qualifications

• HLTA standards or equivalent qualification or experience
• Level 2 in English and Maths
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and child development

Responsibilities

• Support students to access the curriculum with individuals and small groups.
• Promote safeguarding and follow Trust procedures.
• Create a calm, inclusive learning environment and reinforce routines.
• Assist SEND learners with targeted strategies as directed by SENCO.
• Record observations and provide feedback to teachers and SEND colleagues.
• Support learning activities including reading, writing, spelling, listening and wider learning.
• Assist with examinations as reader, scribe or prompt and prepare resources.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and external professionals to support outcomes.
• Contribute to the broader life of Maiden Erlegh School and Trust.
