Job summary

E-ACT Ilminster Academy invites applications for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive school community. You will work closely with teachers, pupils and families, delivering high-quality learning activities, supporting learning and providing targeted interventions to raise achievement.

The successful candidate will have Level 2 TA qualification, experience with primary-aged children, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, collaboration, and raising standards

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Recent experience of working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and use initiative.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality learning activities and lessons across the school, including whole-class teaching during teacher absence or PPA cover.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare and adapt learning activities that meet the needs of all pupils.
• Support pupils to achieve their full potential by promoting high expectations, engagement and positive outcomes.
• Provide targeted interventions and additional support for individuals and groups of pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged learners.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing timely feedback to teachers and contributing to pupil progress discussions.
