Job summary

E-ACT Ilminster Academy is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team. You will work closely with teachers, pupils and families to deliver high-quality learning experiences and help pupils overcome barriers to achievement.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Recent experience with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality learning activities and lessons across the school, including whole-class teaching during teacher absence or PPA cover.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan, prepare and adapt learning activities meeting all pupils' needs.
• Support pupils to achieve their full potential by promoting high expectations and engagement.
• Provide targeted interventions and additional support for individuals and groups, including SEND and disadvantaged learners.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing timely feedback to teachers and contributing to progress discussions.
