Job summary

Academics is recruiting a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a school in the Harborne area. The role starts September 2026 and involves covering classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, as well as assisting SEN pupils.

The HLTA will ideally have qualifications and experience to teach an entire class and support small groups and 1-to-1s as needed. A commitment to ongoing training is expected.

Job description

The successful HLTA must be able to cover classes and small groups in EYFS, KS1, and KS2. You will ideally have the necessary qualifications and experience to teach an entire class as well as several year groups in a primary school. Assisting SEN pupils is also a crucial part of the role, this means you will also be expected to support small groups and 1-to-1s when needed.

Qualifications that we will consider for this role:

• Teaching Assistant related (Level 2+)
• University graduates (with relevant degree)
• Childcare related (Level 2+)

HLTA Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed
