Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join the Data Platforms team within the Chief Data & Analytics Office in London.

You will contribute to building trusted, scalable technology products in an agile environment, applying deep technical expertise across full-stack development and AI-assisted practices. You'll guide design, governance, and delivery, mentor engineers, and work across domains from metadata to distributed systems, with a focus on secure, high-quality production

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced Java and Typescript experience.
Experience leading use of enterprise AI-assisted development tools in code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and security expectations.
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

Leads the engineering of cutting-edge solutions in metadata, meta-modelling and distributed systems.
Provides technical guidance to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews others' code.
Drives AI-assisted coding, testing, and release readiness with standardized validation.
Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve value of automation at scale.
Influences product design, app functionality, and technical operations.
Acts as SME in one or more focus areas and advocates firmwide frameworks.
