Job summary

TavasTechs is seeking a Senior IT Engineer (L3) for our Portishead, Bristol area to join a growing MSP. You will deliver expert 3rd line IT support, lead technical projects, and ensure secure, reliable network and cloud deployments for multiple clients.

The role requires strong Windows Server, Active Directory, cloud, and security skills, with hands-on experience across on-prem and cloud environments. A challenging, fast-paced job with flexible salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on server administration across Windows Server 2012–2022.
• Active Directory and Entra management experience.
• DNS and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Cloud deployments in Azure and AWS.
• Security standards, cyber security knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert 3rd line IT support to clients across IT disciplines.
• Lead design, planning, and delivery of technical projects.
• Manage and maintain computer networks for seamless connectivity.
• Implement and administer cloud deployments in Azure and AWS.
• Configure and manage firewalls, security policies, and DMZ environments.
• Administer Exchange and Office 365 environments.
• Oversee data backups, BC/DR strategies.
• Implement network security measures against cyber threats.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks; use IPerf and Wireshark.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in server administration across Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Full administration and management experience with Active Directory and Entra.
• Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud solutions in Azure and AWS.
• Knowledge of cyber security, including network protection, firewall configuration, and compliance with security standards.
• Experience troubleshooting networks, including VLAN setup, switch management, and LAN/WAN issues.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Proven ability to manage and deliver IT projects.
• Understanding of Cyber Essentials, PCI, ISO, and other security standards.
• Desirable: Microsoft certifications such as MCP or MCSA.
• Desirable: Cisco certification such as CCNA.
• Desirable: Virtualisation certifications in VMware or Hyper-V.
• Desirable: Cloud certifications in Azure or AWS.
• Desirable: Firewall and networking certifications such as Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall, or Ruckus.
