Job summary

Government Commercial Agency is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to lead end-to-end journey design and create accessible, inclusive digital services. You will mentor team members and collaborate with researchers, content designers, and engineers to translate policy and technical constraints into user-centered solutions.

Reporting to the Head of UCD, you will drive design across Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live phases, while championing reusable UI patterns and design systems.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end interaction design experience in Agile environments.
• Prototyping of low-to-high fidelity interactive prototypes with Figma/HTML/CSS.
• Expertise in WCAG 2.2 accessibility and inclusive design.
• Evidence-based design using user research and usability testing.
• Ability to influence decisions and align stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end journey design across complex user flows.
• Create rapid prototypes to test hypotheses and refine interactions.
• Ensure WCAG 2.2 accessibility compliance across services.
• Extend GOV.UK Design System with reusable UI patterns.
• Collaborate with researchers, content designers, and analysts.
• Provide design leadership across Discovery to Live phases.
• Line manage contract team members and mentor staff.
