Job summary

Crown Commercial Service is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to join the UCD team in a permanent role. You will lead end-to-end journey design, map complex user flows, and mentor contractors within a dynamic government programme.

You will collaborate with researchers, content designers and engineers to translate regulatory and backend constraints into accessible, intuitive interfaces across Discovery to Live phases. Prior experience with GOV.UK standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven End-to-End Interaction Design Experience in Agile delivery.
• Prototyping of low/high fidelity interactive prototypes to test hypotheses.
• Expertise in Accessibility & Inclusion (WCAG 2.2).
• Evidence-Based & Collaborative design decisions with cross-functional teams.
• Influencing and building consensus among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead End-to-End Journey Design with complex user flows and touchpoints.
• Rapid Prototyping & Iteration using Figma, HTML/CSS or design kits.
• Ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance across digital touchpoints.
• Extend design systems and GOV.UK standards with reusable UI patterns.
• Collaborate with researchers, content designers and analysts to iterate based on data.
• Balance policy, legal and technical constraints to deliver human-centred solutions.
• Lead co-design sessions and workshops to align delivery squads.
• Provide design leadership across Discovery to Live phases and mentor contractors.
