Job summary
Hamilton Barnes seeks a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to design, migrate and support enterprise virtualisation, storage and hybrid cloud environments. You’ll work hands-on with VMware vSphere/VCF, NetApp/Dell EMC storage, and cloud platforms across Azure and AWS, planning complex migrations with minimal disruption.
The role covers disaster recovery design and testing, backup tooling, identity and networking, plus Windows 11 rollouts where applicable.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in enterprise infrastructure engineering.
- Strong VMware expertise including vSphere, vSAN, NSX‑T, and VCF.
- Experience with enterprise storage platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC, IBM).
- Migration and DR in Azure/AWS environments.
- Scripting/automation with PowerShell or Ansible.
- Windows Server, Active Directory, DFS.
- Backup and DR tooling experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and upgrade VMware vSphere/VCF environments.
- Lead migration projects between platforms (VMware to Nutanix, Azure, AWS).
- Manage enterprise storage estates and capacity planning.
- Own disaster recovery design and testing for on‑prem and cloud.
- Administer backup platforms and resolve issues.
- Support hybrid identity and networking (AD, DFS/DFS-R, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
- Lead Windows 11/end‑user computing rollouts and Citrix/AVD estate management.
- Produce design documentation, upgrade plans, and reporting.
- Provide 3rd/4th‑line support and escalation.
