Hamilton Barnes is seeking a DC Architect for a Reading-based, 12-month contract in a major infrastructure programme. The role covers end-to-end data centre design, migration planning, and resilience strategies as the senior technical authority across compute, storage and network disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have strong VMware/SDDC experience, data centre networking expertise, and familiarity with backup/DR, Cloud integration, and automation.

Competenze

• Proven experience as a Data Centre/Infrastructure Architect in large enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualisation and SDDC, especially VMware.
• Solid data centre networking understanding (leaf-spine, resilient design).

Mansioni

• Design end-to-end data centre architectures (compute, storage, network, virtualization).
• Lead data centre consolidation, exit and migration planning with target-state designs.
• Define resilience, backup and DR strategy with RPO/RTO targets (Rubrik).
• Provide direction on monitoring and tooling (SCOM) and promote IaC/automation.
• Advise stakeholders on architectural options, risks and standards; provide after-hours escalation support.
