Job summary

Michael Page Finance is seeking a Senior Manager for IFRS 9 Accounting & Controls based in Birmingham. The role oversees IFRS 9 reporting, ECL reviews, and control frameworks to ensure regulatory and financial accuracy for the UK balance sheet.

The ideal candidate has UK bank experience, ACA/ACCA credentials, and deep IFRS 9 expertise, with strong data remediation and senior stakeholder influence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK bank / large financial services IFRS reporting environment.
• Qualified accountant with ACA or ACCA designation.
• Strong IFRS 9 experience with regulatory reporting (FINREP / PRA).
• Capability to impact data quality and remediation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ongoing IFRS 9 reporting for the UK balance sheet and review reporting solutions.
• Perform monthly ECL pack reviews with reasonableness checks and variance analysis.
• Provide technical review of outputs (IFRS & FINREP disclosures) and conduct quarterly reviews.
• Run data quality and remediation activities and support automation projects.
• Own and operate SOX controls and strengthen the IFRS 9 reporting control framework.
