Job summary
Thomson in Ipswich seeks a Senior Hydrologist/Senior Aquatic Ecologist to lead our Water Team from a technical and client-facing perspective. You will manage workloads, mentor staff and ensure high-quality, compliant environmental deliverables on complex aquatic projects.
The role combines leadership with hands-on hydro-ecological delivery and business development, working with clients to shape water services while maintaining ambitious project outcomes and profitability.
Qualifications
- Experience in environmental consultancy.
- Background in aquatic ecology, hydro-ecology or similar.
- Track record of winning work and building client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver large, complex hydro-ecological projects.
- Provide expert guidance on legislation, policy and best practice.
- Review and approve technical reports and deliverables.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting and team financial performance.
- Win new work through bids, tenders and client engagement.
