Job summary

Thomson, a UK environmental consultancy with offices across the country, is seeking a Technical Specialist to lead and grow its Water Team in Manchester. You will deliver complex aquatic projects, provide expert guidance on legislation, and develop client relationships to expand water services.

You will combine technical expertise with leadership and business development, ensuring high-quality environmental outcomes and successful project delivery for clients across terrestrial and freshwater

Qualifications

Experience in environmental consultancy.
Background in aquatic ecology, hydro-ecology or similar.
Track record of winning work and building client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the Water Team, delivering large hydro-ecological projects.
Provide expert guidance on legislation, policy and best practice; review technical reports.
Oversee budgets, forecasting and team financial performance; ensure on-time delivery.
Win new work through bids, tenders and client engagement; maintain client relationships.
