Job summary

Arup is seeking a Chartered Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design and technical governance for major transmission projects in the UK. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary design efforts, ensure compliance with project milestones, and provide authoritative technical direction to senior stakeholders.

You will mentor teams, champion digital engineering approaches, and contribute to bids and programme strategy while representing the electrical discipline in governance forums and client

Qualifications

• Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng IET) or equivalent with extensive transmission experience.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary electrical design teams and governance.
• Strong knowledge of HV substation design and associated interfaces.
• Experience coordinating with civil, environmental, geotechnical and structural disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across electrical engineering for major transmission projects.
• Lead design assurance, governance and signoff across complex packages.
• Coordinate with stakeholders including National Grid and contractors.
• Mentor engineers and support capability development.
• Drive digital engineering and integrated design solutions.
• Support business development and work-winning activities.
