Job summary
Arup is recruiting Senior Electrical Design (Transmission) engineers to join our High Voltage team in the UK, with opportunities in Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol. You'll design EHV systems and lead technical delivery on multi-disciplinary projects from concept through detailed design.
The role combines technical design with client-facing project management and bids, with travel within the UK. You should have MSc/MEng/BEng in Electrical Engineering and be Chartered or working toward
Qualifications
- MSc, MEng or BEng in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Chartered Engineer or working toward IET chartership.
- Experience designing EHV (400kV-132kV) electrical systems.
- Proficiency with design/analysis tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, IPSA, ETAP, ERACS, CDEGS, COMSOL, CymCAP SKM or similar.
- Knowledge of UK electrical codes and standards.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design deliverables such as single-line diagrams, protection schemes, earthing designs and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines during the design process.
- Support bids and business development initiatives.
- Provide technical management on project tasks and bid responses.
- Interface with clients to manage expectations and deliver value.
