Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced Chartered Electrical Engineer to provide strategic technical leadership across majorUK transmission projects. You will lead HV design, assurance and cross‑discipline interfaces, ensuring high quality delivery for the UK Great Grid Partnership and similar programmes.

You will mentor multidisciplinary teams, drive governance, and represent electrical engineering in senior forums, underpinning resilient, low‑carbon infrastructure and major programme success.

Qualifications

• Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng IET) or equivalent is essential.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary electrical design teams with governance experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management at senior governance levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide organisation wide technical leadership across electrical design.
• Oversee design, assurance and integration of HV electrical deliverables.
• Lead technical reviews, risk management and signoff across packages.
• Mentor and develop electrical engineers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Engage with National Grid, partners and clients to support bids and programme strategy.
• Promote digital engineering and standardized tools across the discipline.
