Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Project Health & Safety Manager to lead the HSW function on the TransPennine Route Upgrade. You will drive a strong safety culture, lead a team of HSW professionals and collaborate with clients, partners and suppliers to deliver a safe rail project.

You will bring NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6, IOSH Chartered status, and substantial experience in major infrastructure or rail environments to ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and CDM requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading health, safety and wellbeing within major construction, infrastructure or rail projects.
• Experience in Principal Contractor environments and managing H&S in high-risk settings.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders to improve HSW outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HSW function across the TRU programme with proactive safety leadership.
• Facilitate design risk reviews and safety by design workshops to eliminate risks at source.
• Provide HSW input into tenders, delivery strategies and early contractor involvement activities.
• Ensure construction phase plans, logistics, temporary works and sequencing manage risk.
