Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Thetford to recruit an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time, long-term role starting September.

The HLTA will work with class teachers and senior leaders to deliver high-quality lessons, provide intervention support, and may lead whole-class teaching when required. The school emphasizes inclusivity, strong leadership, safeguarding, and pupil welfare.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification desirable.
• Experience leading whole-class learning and delivering interventions across the primary curriculum.
• Sound understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Two recent education-based references.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
• Provide high-quality classroom support alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences.
• Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to support pupils’ targets.
• Adapt activities to meet needs of all learners, including SEND.
• Support assessment and monitoring of pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Promote safeguarding and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development throughout the day.
• Contribute to wider school life and uphold school values.
