Job summary

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Cambridge to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a part-time position starting September 2026.

The successful candidate will deliver targeted interventions, lead lessons when required, and support pupil progress across the curriculum. This role offers a supportive school environment with safeguarding emphasis and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Holds a HLTA qualification or has substantial classroom experience.
• Experience supporting learning in a primary school setting.
• Confident delivering lessons and interventions across year groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong safeguarding and inclusion knowledge.
• Proactive, adaptable and passionate about children\'s development.
• Able to work as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions and small group support sessions to raise attainment.
• Lead planned learning activities and whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support pupils across the curriculum, helping them to achieve academic and personal goals.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource creation.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to support pupil success.
