Job summary

Supply Desk is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Slough (SL2) to appoint a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The role involves delivering planned lessons, leading interventions and covering lessons across the school to support teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be confident, enthusiastic and adaptable, with a passion for helping children reach their full potential and progress across EYFS to KS2.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Confidence delivering lessons across multiple year groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Lead small group and 1:1 interventions to accelerate pupil progress.
• Support pupils with SEND needs.
• Assist with assessment, recording progress and feedback.
• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in class.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Create an engaging, inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to wider school life as appropriate.
