Job summary

Teach Now is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in Hertfordshire. The HLTA will deliver planned lessons, lead interventions, and provide class cover as needed, supporting KS1/KS2 pupils and SEN needs.

The role involves working closely with teachers, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and contributing to pupil progress. Temporary, full-time position starting September 2026.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 3 qualification is required.
• Strong KS1/KS2 classroom experience is essential.
• Confident with leading groups and covering classes.
• Good behaviour management and communication skills.
• Proactive, dependable and encouraging approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities.
• Lead targeted interventions in English and maths.
• Support pupils individually and in small groups.
• Provide whole-class cover where needed.
• Help maintain a positive, purposeful learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to support pupil progress.
