Job summary

RGB in Manchester is seeking a Senior Highway / Infrastructure Design Engineer to lead highway design packages from concept through to construction-ready detail. The role emphasizes technical delivery, mentoring colleagues and collaboration with engineers, transport planners and other specialists to deliver safe, sustainable solutions.

The successful candidate will own design packages, apply Civil 3D 3D vertical designs, and ensure alignment with UK standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering highway and infrastructure designs from concept to construction-ready.
• Experience with UK standards and local authority requirements.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highway and infrastructure design from concept through to construction-ready detail.
• Produce highway layouts, vertical alignments, and 3D models using Civil 3D.
• Prepare Section 278 and Section 38 submissions.
• Contribute to active travel and urban infrastructure schemes.
• Coordinate design across multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Support BIM processes and CDEs.
