RGB Network in Manchester is seeking a Senior Highway / Infrastructure Design Engineer to lead highway design projects from concept to construction-ready detail. You will deliver layouts, verticals and 3D models using Civil 3D, and prepare submissions under Section 278/38 while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

As an experienced professional, you will help develop junior engineers, ensure adherence to UK standards, and contribute to active travel and sustainable transport initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience designing highways and infrastructure across concepts to construction-ready stages.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D 3D modelling for highways.
• Experience with Section 278 and Section 38 submissions.
• Experience in active travel, highway improvement or urban infrastructure schemes.
• Knowledge of UK highway design standards and local authority requirements.

Responsabilités

• Deliver highway and infrastructure design from concept through to construction.
• Produce highway layouts, vertical alignments and 3D design models using Civil 3D.
• Prepare Section 278 and Section 38 submissions for highway schemes.
• Coordinate design activities across multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team.
• Ensure designs meet UK standards, quality requirements and project objectives.
• Support technical reviews, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Work within BIM processes and Common Data Environments (CDEs).
• Review constraints, environmental considerations and stakeholder requirements.
