Job summary

RGB Network in Manchester is seeking a Highway / Infrastructure Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. You will work on highway, active travel and drainage schemes from early concepts through to detailed designs and technical approvals.

The role offers hybrid working, exposure to diverse projects, and opportunities for long-term career progression within an international consultancy.

Qualifications

• Experience producing highway and infrastructure design solutions within a consultancy or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Section 278 and Section 38 submissions, with awareness of Section 104 and Section 106 agreements.
• Good working knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20 and other relevant design standards.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, alongside relevant highway design tools such as AVT, KeySign or KeyPost.
• Understanding of drainage design guidance and related infrastructure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed highway, active travel and infrastructure designs through the relevant technical approval processes.
• Developing designs from preliminary stages through to detailed, construction-ready packages.
• Preparing Section 278 and Section 38 highway approval submissions.
• Coordinating with drainage agreements and associated requirements.
• Producing highway layouts using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and linked design software.
• Supporting technical documentation, design reports and records of engineering decisions.
• Collaborating with colleagues and clients to deliver quality designs on time and within budget.
• Contributing to design reviews and ensuring compliance with standards.
