Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is advertising a Heavy Vehicle Technical Officer based in Chadderton. The role involves processing technical applications to ensure full assessment and compliant documentation, supporting front-line teams and external stakeholders with DVSA standards, and contributing to policy and process improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assessment of heavy vehicle statutory test applications for first tests and conversions, ensuring compliance.
• Assess applications of approved vehicles via ECWVTA teams.
• Provide technical support to non-technical processing teams and act as advisory service to stakeholders.
• Investigate possible solutions to solve issues or mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Policy Team on new initiatives and regulatory changes.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide concise responses.
• Support Heavy Vehicle Processing Manager and represent DVSA at events.
• Maintain relevant databases as required.
