Job summary

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required and Band 7 level experience preferred.
• Supervision and training of junior staff is part of the role.
• Knowledge of ISO 15189 quality requirements and COSHH/risk assessments is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate day-to-day Haematology activities.
• Analyse, interpret and report complex investigations with quality control.
• Provide specialist test advice and testing timescales to users.
• Organise and participate in training and competency records for staff.
• Be flexible to deliver a 24-7 service and deputise for Lead BMS Haematology when needed.
• Maintain the laboratory quality management system and support other sections as required.
