Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director to lead our Ground Engineering Team in the UK. You will drive technical development, oversee multi-disciplinary projects and strengthen client relationships to support business growth.

You'll mentor junior staff, guide design approaches, and collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy and Buildings teams. This role requires Chartered status, a Civil Engineering or Geology degree, and strong knowledge of UK ground conditions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with a 2:1 or higher.
• MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous.
• Chartered status.
• Knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices.
• Ability to collaborate in project delivery, work winning and client satisfaction.
• Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders and manage multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses.
• Provide consultative advice during all project stages including site selection and optioneering, design and construction.
• Manage geotechnical projects with planning, scheduling, coordination and budgeting.
• Lead and mentor the Ground Engineering team to deliver quality outcomes.
• Build relationships with past, current and prospective clients to support opportunities.
