Job summary

Join AECOM’s Ground Engineering team as a Technical Director / Associate Director in the UK. You’ll lead technical development, strengthen capabilities, and drive business growth through strong client relationships while mentoring junior staff.

This hybrid role requires Chartered status with a Civil/Geotechnical background, deep knowledge of UK ground conditions, and a track record of delivering complex geotechnical projects for national and international clients.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with a 2:1 or higher.
• An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is advantageous.
• Chartered status is required or highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and design calculations.
• Provide consultative advice during all project stages including site selection and optioneering.
• Manage geotechnical projects with schedules, coordination and budget control.
• Provide leadership and support to the Ground Engineering team to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Maintain industry presence and build relationships to ensure a pipeline of opportunities.
