Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director / Associate Director to lead the Ground Engineering team in the UK. You will drive technical development, strengthen client relationships, and oversee large geotechnical projects across multiple sectors.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage schedules and budgets, and collaborate with Transport, Water, Energy, and Buildings teams. Chartered status and UK ground-conditions knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of geotechnical delivery
• Strong client relationship development and management
• Good knowledge of UK ground conditions and standard practices
• Experience with design codes and innovative methods

Responsibilities

• Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses with sound technical basis.
• Provide consultative advice across project life cycle including site selection and optioneering, design and construction.
• Manage geotechnical projects with scheduling, coordination and budget control.
• Lead and mentor Ground Engineering team to deliver projects to time and quality requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and external partners.
