Job summary

Aztec Services (Guernsey) Limited is seeking an experienced fund accountant to carry out routine accounting for fund structures under supervision. You will manage a portfolio, prepare reports and liaise with clients while supporting junior staff.

With 3+ years in fund administration, you’ll build strong technical and interpersonal skills, using eFront and Excel daily. The role offers a flexible hybrid model and opportunities for professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in fund administration or financial services.
• Part-qualified with ACCA/ACA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and tax compliance.
• Proficient in Excel and fund reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds and liaise with clients and intermediaries.
• Prepare investor reports, statutory financial statements and respond to audit queries.
• Perform periodic bank reconciliations and maintain schedules in Excel/eFront.
• Assist with tax returns and mentor junior staff under supervision.

About the role:

Reports to Financial Reporting Manager The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds, management companies and associated fund structures and liaise with clients and intermediaries as necessary
• Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and adhoc investor queries
• Deal with the completion of routine audit queries
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions
• Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of accounting
• Deal with the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns
• Act as a mentor to junior staff under the supervision of senior staff

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• 3 + years of relevant experience in a fund administration or financial services environment
• The candidate will be expected to be part qualified with a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Professional level or ACA Advanced level, or equivalent)
• Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
• Computer literacy skills are essential
• Very good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
