Job summary

Aztec Group is seeking a Fund Accountant to perform day-to-day accounting for diverse fund structures under the supervision of the Financial Reporting Manager.

You will prepare investor reports, statutory financial statements, and assist with audits while maintaining strong control processes and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• The candidate should be at least part qualified with a relevant professional qualification.
• Experience in UK GAAP and IFRS is essential.
• Experience with statutory financial statements is required.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds and related entities.
• Prepare, reconcile and proof investor reports and statutory FS.
• Respond to audit queries and liaison with clients.
• Run bank reconciliations and maintain control records.
• Maintain eFront and Excel working papers.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices and mentor junior staff.

About The Role

Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager

The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds, management companies and associated fund structures
• Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad hoc investor queries
• Deal with the completion of routine audit queries and liaise with clients and intermediaries
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions are completed within a robust control environment
• Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of accounting
• Ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and other payments
• Act as a mentor to junior staff under the supervision of senior staff

Skills, Knowledge, Expertise

• The candidate will be expected to be at least part qualified with a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Professional level or ACA Advanced level)
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
• Experience of the preparation of statutory financial statements is essential
• Experience of reviewing statutory accounts
• Proficient in the use of Excel, new systems and software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Previous experience of training, coaching/mentoring of junior staff is advantageous
• Prior industry experience in Fund Administration is highly desirable
