Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This role is hands-on, customer-facing, and billable, demanding strong engineering skills and customer empathy. You will deliver production-grade solutions, guide transformational big data projects, and help customers adopt

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: lead production-grade systems, reference architectures, and data ingestion/ML model integration.
• Transformational Impact: guide strategic customers in end-to-end big data projects with design, build and deployment of AI apps.
• Empower Customers: advise on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement projects for customer adoption of Databricks.
• Own the Architecture: lead architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks team, PM, Architect and customer teams to meet engagement needs.
• Provide product feedback with engineering and support to resolve issues.
