Job summary

Databricks in the United Kingdom is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade data/AI solutions using the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, guide design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions with strong customer empathy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient with Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of CI/CD for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps and ML/AI models.
• Experience designing end-to-end data architectures.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade data & AI solution delivery for customers.
• Own architecture and design decisions ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work.
• Embed with customer teams and deliver with empathy and value.
