Job summary

Databricks in London is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic customers, designing and delivering custom full-stack applications on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and other stacks. You will own architecture, lead decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and applications.

The role combines engineering depth with customer-facing impact, requiring collaboration with Sales, Product, and Field Engineering and a willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background across backend, frontend, and systems integration.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Java/Scala, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience delivering production applications that combine data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.
• Familiarity with AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and AI code generation tools.
• Proven track record delivering technical solutions in enterprise environments that drive measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and design decisions for secure, scalable customer solutions.
• Develop backend, frontend, and integrations on the Databricks platform.
• Deliver production-grade data/AI applications from ingestion to model integration.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Field Engineering to ensure successful customer journeys.
• Contribute accelerators and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
