Job summary

Environment Agency in England is seeking a Senior Advisor (Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling) to support and assure complex flood risk modelling across Evidence Services. You will lead and coach teams, apply expert hydraulic modelling and GIS skills, and communicate complex uncertainty to non-specialists.

The role sits within the Flood and Coastal Risk Management directorate, with flexible working and opportunities to influence modelling practices and training across Delivery Teams.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of flood modelling and hydrology.
• Extensive experience building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting using industry standard tools.
• Data processing and management experience; proficiency with GIS software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support to 6 Fluvial Delivery Teams.
• Coach colleagues to develop modelling skills and best practices.
• Engage with Risk Assessment/Head of Flood Risk Mapping and Modelling colleagues to share methods.
