Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join our Evidence Services. You will provide technical leadership across six Fluvial Delivery Teams and support complex flood risk modelling with clear judgement and communication.

You will mentor colleagues, explain uncertainty in flood models to non-experts, and contribute to diverse, inclusive working practices while collaborating across the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Directorate.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Extensive experience building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting with GIS.
• Experience in data processing and management and GIS software packages.
• Mentoring and coaching skills and commitment to continuous development.
• Ability to work independently and in a team to make decisions.
• Excellent communication of complex problems to non-experts.
• Curious, inclusive mindset with commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity.
• Influencing and persuading skills.
