Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to support and assure complex flood risk models within Evidence Services. You will communicate complex modelling concepts clearly, coach others, and contribute to delivering high-quality flood risk insights across delivery teams.

The role sits in Evidence Services and requires expertise in hydraulic modelling, GIS, and collaboration across the Flood and Coastal Risk Management directorate.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Extensive experience building hydraulic flood models in fluvial settings and using industry standard GIS tools.
• Data processing and GIS software proficiency.
• Mentoring and coaching to develop others’ skills.
• Strong communication to explain complex issues to non-experts.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide assurance to complex flood risk modelling for high-profile projects.
• Support six Fluvial Delivery Teams technically and contribute to ways of working, skills and training.
• Collaborate across Evidence Services and FCRM Directorate to share best practices.
• Help foster an inclusive, flexible working environment within the team.
