Job summary

Environment Agency seeks a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join our Evidence Services. You will support and assure complex flood risk modelling, working with Technical Delivery Teams and Centres of Excellence across the Directorate.

You will communicate complex modelling concepts clearly to non-experts, lead modelling initiatives, and help develop training for colleagues in flood hydrology and coastal risk modelling.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Expert knowledge and / or considerable experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting with GIS software.
• Experience in data processing and management, and GIS software packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assurance to complex and high-profile flood risk modelling.
• Mentor and coach colleagues to develop flood modelling capabilities.
• Collaborate with Delivery Teams and Centres of Excellence within Evidence Services to improve workflows and training.
