Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to support and assure complex flood risk modelling within Evidence Services. The role emphasizes leadership, clear communication, and collaboration with hydrology specialists across delivery teams.

You will coach colleagues, drive improvements in modelling approaches, and contribute to risk mapping and assessment activities in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Expert knowledge and / or considerable experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting and experience with GIS software.
• Experience in data processing and management, and GIS software packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to 6 Fluvial Delivery Teams and contribute to ways of working, skills and training.
• Support the Flood Risk Modelling Directorate and collaborate with Risk Assessment/Head of Flood Risk Mapping and Modelling colleagues.
• Communicate complex flood risk concepts clearly to non‑expert audiences and promote an inclusive culture.
