Job summary

Environment Agency is hiring a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join the Evidence Services team. You will support and provide assurance on complex flood risk models and mentor colleagues across delivery teams.

You will communicate complex modelling concepts to non-expert audiences, collaborate across directorates and contribute to continuous improvements in methods, training and ways of working.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Expert knowledge and/or considerable experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting; GIS software used to develop models.
• Experience in data processing and management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) software packages.

Responsibilities

• Support 6 Fluvial Delivery Teams technically and contribute to ways of working, skills and training.
• Work across the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Directorate, including Centres of Excellence.
• Promote inclusive and flexible working patterns across the team and organisation.
