Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join our Evidence Services, delivering expert modelling and assurance for complex flood risk projects. You will guide hydrology analyses, lead hydraulic modelling activities and support six Delivery Teams across Flood Risk Management.

You will communicate complex results clearly to non-experts, mentor colleagues, and contribute to continuous improvements in modelling methods within a diverse, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Expert knowledge and / or considerable experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting.
• Experience in data processing and management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) software packages.
• Mentoring and coaching skills, as well as a commitment to continuous development.
• Ability to work alone, as well as part of team, to make decisions and solve problems.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly of complex problems to non-expert audiences.
