Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Senior Advisor in Fluvial Flood Risk Modelling to join the Evidence Services team. You will support and provide assurance for complex flood risk modelling and explain uncertainty to non-experts.

The role involves technical leadership and collaboration across six Fluvial Delivery Teams within the Flood and Coastal Risk Management division. You will mentor colleagues, contribute to training, and work with the Risk Assessment and Mapping functions to drive innovation

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge and technical leadership in flood modelling and hydrology.
• Expert knowledge and/or considerable experience in building hydraulic flood models in a fluvial setting; GIS software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide assurance to complex flood risk modelling projects.
• Coach and mentor teams across six Fluvial Delivery Teams.
• Collaborate with Risk Assessment/Head of Flood Risk Mapping and Modelling colleagues.
• Contribute to Centres of Excellence and cross-team initiatives.
