Job summary

WSP is seeking experienced flood risk professionals to join our Sustainable Water Management team in the UK. Senior or Principal level roles offer hybrid work arrangements across the UK, with opportunities to lead technical deliverables and mentor colleagues on flood risk and drainage projects for Local Authorities.

You will work on a range of projects including flood investigations, strategies, sustainable drainage, and planning support, driving high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental, geographical, science or engineering discipline is essential.
• Chartered status with C.WEM, CEnv, CSci or CEng is desired for Principal or evidence of working towards chartership for Senior.
• Experience in flood risk management with Local Authorities or public/private sector flood risk experience is required.
• Ability to lead project delivery, manage budgets, and mentor junior colleagues is expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and take technical lead on flood risk management projects for Local Authorities.
• Mentor junior colleagues and oversee small project teams.
• Manage workload and project delivery with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate proactive H&S behaviours and promote them within the team.
• Contribute to planning tasks including programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Engage with clients professionally and develop a trusted advisor network.
• Contribute to securing small projects and extensions to existing projects.
