Job summary

WSP in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to deliver flood risk assessments, sustainable drainage solutions, and related studies for Local Authority clients. You will work across complex projects, developing strategies and supporting planning processes to secure consent.

The role requires knowledge of UK legislation (FRM Act, NPF4, SEPA guidance) and the ability to mentor colleagues, manage technical outputs, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering flood risk assessments and drainage strategies
• Experience with local authority flood management projects
• Understanding of relevant UK policies (FRM Act, NPF4, SEPA guidance)
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues
• Strong report writing and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver good-quality technical deliverables to clients, often as a technical reviewer and approver
• Mentor junior colleagues, oversee small project teams, manage and direct projects
• Contribute to opportunities to secure projects and extensions
• Coordinate project meetings internally and externally, multi-disciplinary and client-facing
• Demonstrate positive H&S behaviours and champion this amongst the wider team
