Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join our Sustainable Water Management team. You will deliver flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and support planning for Local Authority projects across the UK.

The role offers a hybrid working model, opportunities to mentor colleagues, and engagement on high-profile flood risk schemes, with Chartered status or progression toward it encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Local Authority flood risk services.
• Experience delivering Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies for planning.
• Ability to manage budgets and lead project delivery.
• Knowledge of FRM Act, NPF4, SEPA guidance and local policies.
• Mentor junior colleagues.
• Strong technical report writing.
• Confident in presenting and leading meetings.
• Chartered status or working towards it (C.WEM/CEnv/CSci/CEng).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical deliverables to clients.
• Mentor junior colleagues and oversee small project teams.
• Secure new projects and extensions.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Promote Health & Safety within the team.
